Fighting UFOs

Karen made the first Danish video podcast, and started hosting KALs. This month is all about finishing some of all those UFOs. I'm doing pretty well, but there's still loads left in the knitting basket, like this one:

Stunning yarn from The Uncommon Thread, so so soft.

Can't wait to finish (again. Because I did finish, and it needed an ekstra repeat to fit properly, and it went back to the UFO state...)

Transforming

lovely yarn to t-shirt.

Loosely inspired by Billowing, but simply a traditional top-down raglan, with a wide neck, no sleeves - just added ribbing.

The yarn. Oh, the yarn. Camel/silk from Posh Yarns, 2 strands of laceweight.

This might just be my favorite knit so far!

Whooosh

3 months later. Hello again!

Hard to keep up with real life, family, school - and blogging...
There's been embroidery going on. Viola made me a drawing, and I turned it into a brooch:

Might have to practise a bit(!) but loving the naive look.
There's been knitting too - and winning! Stay tuned :-)

Merry Christmas

Rudolph is a few years old, but only this year I was able to catch him! He's a real Misfit, and longing to be joined by other misfits from this brilliant book.

Have a very merry holiday. See you next year!

Starry days

This Christmas month is all about stars apparently:

The hama bead version (if you are looking for inspiration, my old classmate Grete Bendixen made a cool book filled with hama bead Christmas decoration).

The daily calendar made by Viola (I get to open every second day, sharing the honour with the boyfriend).

And lastly, the old nordic star woollen shoes pre felting. Post felting they are soft and warm and on my feet right now - I followed the pattern, just used lettlopi and appropiate needles. More info over at Ravelry.

Mighty fine Mittens

Unknown yarn (silk/wool?) - free pattern (Cruiser by Cailyn Meyer), and 2 nights, now keep my hands warm.

I wasn't concentrating doing the thumbs, and they ended like this:

Can't be borthered to redo, they are still warm - just don't blame the pattern.

Cloudy

My first Skappel Genser, a grey cloud, soft as just.

Knitted in a mixture of alpaca, and 4 thin threads of cashmere/cotton/silk - which keep getting pulled out. So the next one is on it's way - in 1 thread of yarn.

Meanwhile this cloudy grey is a favorite - threads being pulled out or not.
